QUALITY MANAGER


Description:

Candidate will be responsible for handling the quality department and any issues that arise internally and externally. Candidate will be making sure that both segments of the clients business which is automation and manufacturing assembly are in place.


Candidate will also ensure the quality management system is properly in place along with ensuring that APQP standards are followed, ISO standards are followed.


One of the clients segments is engine blocks, cylinder blocks, drive train, transmissions.


Candidate will also lead the Quality Department and have 6-10 direct reports which range from inspectors to quality engineers.



Primary duties for this position are as follows:

o Provide leadership within the Quality department and to others within the organization

o Act as a liaison between CBS, customers, and the supply base, as it pertains to Quality

o Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers

o Produce and investigate cost savings opportunities

o Create and/or implement best practices within Quality and throughout the organization that will streamline new and/or existing processes and procedures


Primary responsibilities include managing and/or performing (if required) the following activities:

o Supplier Quality Management & Development

o EC revision level management as it pertains to Quality

o Quality systems development

o Data integrity of all Quality systems

o PPM

o Cost of Poor Quality Management

o Preventative & Corrective Action

o Departmental staffing and organizational structuring

o PPAP

o Process improvement utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC)

o Gauge calibration, tracking, design

o CMM management

o TS16949 & all customer certification retention


Primary responsibilities include managing and/or performing (if required) the following activities:

o Responsible for all departmental metrics relative to the Job Duties outlined above

o New plant and/or program launch support

o Ensure all CBS systems are being utilized by Quality personnel, and ensure adherence to all procedures, per the Business Management System (BMS)

o Administration of proper training to Quality personnel




TRAVEL:


Candidate would travel less than 10% of the time. Out of state travel would be 2-3 day trips and local travel would be 5-10 miles from the facility.


MUST HAVES:


-5+ years of Quality Engineer experience (candidate must have had 5 years of Quality Engineer experience that is recent and relevant to the industry of the client. Client is open to a Quality Engineer looking to move into the Quality Manager role as long as they have been doing majority of what this role entails in their current role)

-Automotive Manufacturing background (Candidate must have relevant experience to what the client does (transmissions, cylinder blocks, engine components, drive train, CNC machining) They have complex assembly which is anywhere between 150-200 part numbers)

-Management experience (Candidate will have 6-10 direct reports, and they must understand how to manage them along with scheduling, and conflicts that may arise)

-Root cause/corrective actions/GD&T (Candidate must understand all the root cause functions, corrective action functions and GD&T as well)PPAP Gage R&R control plans GD&T type of parts

-IATF Standards experience
