Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the structural design, engineering, and management of building projects. This includes analysis and strengthening of existing structures. The role involves coordination with Project Managers, AutoCAD/Revit technicians, clients, contractors, and other engineers. The engineer will work on various projects for new construction of commercial, educational, and industrial facilities and buildings. Key projects include hospitals, schools, churches, office buildings, hotels, multi-family apartments, food processing plants, stadiums, parking structures, and more.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design for structural building systems.
• Prepare and develop construction drawings and engineering design plans.
• Perform structural analysis.
• Calculate structural loads and pressures.
• Manage the delivery of projects from conceptual design through construction documentation.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients, engineers, and contractors.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Structural Engineering and design for commercial, education, healthcare building projects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural focus.
• Experience in Revit.
• Proficiency in structural design and engineering.
• Knowledge of structural concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel.
• Experience with structural analysis and design engineering.
• Familiarity with building systems and structural systems.
• Proficiency in software such as Enercalc, ADAPT-Builder, and Risa 3d.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PE (Professional Engineer) license.
• Experience with programs such as Enercalc, Visual Analysis, or ADAPT-Builder.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid/remote schedule with in-office presence required once per week or every two weeks. The office is located in Downtown Kalamazoo.
