Job Title: Software Architect


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Architect to perform reviews of architecture, ensuring alignment with guidelines, and to work closely with the software development team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reviewing requirements, providing suggestions for modular architecture, and driving architectural changes for autonomous ground vehicle autonomy software (ARCS). You will follow and improve ARCS architecture guidelines rooted in the Army's Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) approach and collaborate with the development team on design and architectural changes, adhering to MBSE implementation standards.


Responsibilities

  • Perform architecture reviews and ensure alignment with guidelines.
  • Work with the software development team to review gap definition diagrams and IBD diagrams.
  • Provide suggestions to make the architecture more modular, breaking down from system to subsystems and components.
  • Drive and lead architecture changes for autonomous ground vehicle autonomy software (ARCS).
  • Follow and improve ARCS architecture guidelines based on the Army's MOSA approach.
  • Collaborate with the development team to review and design architectural changes.
  • Follow MBSE implementation standards for architecture.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in implementing software architecture using proper design guidelines.
  • 5 years of experience in software development with C++ or C and/or ROS.
  • Experience in robotic autonomous systems, including basic knowledge of vehicle controls, sensors, autonomous systems, and functional safety.
  • Proficiency in C++, MBSE, ROS, and SysML.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ROS is a plus.
  • Experience with MBSE tools such as SysML, CAMEO, MagicDraw, etc.

Work Environment

Preference for local candidates able to be on-site 2-3 times a week in Warren, MI, but open to remote candidates who meet the requirements. The position involves 10-15% travel.
