Job Title: Electrical Project Manager
Job Description
Our design-build electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager specialized in industrial and automotive construction projects, both renovation and ground-up. You will oversee all aspects of electrical construction, ensuring projects stay on track, within budget, and meet scheduled deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage the bid process for potential projects, including attending pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs.
- Assemble final bid proposals, including labor, material, subcontractors, and other relevant project costs.
- Negotiate contracts, review and confirm final scopes.
- Serve as the primary contact for project issues and manage client/customer relationships.
- Attend internal and external project meetings and communicate with other trades, the General Contractor, and clients.
- Establish, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
- Monitor, forecast, and manage job costs to maximize profitability.
- Notify customers and/or general contractors of delays or scope changes within the timeline stated in contracts.
- Manage project deadlines, assign team responsibilities, and summarize project progress.
- Oversee, support, and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Prepare reports regarding project status and communicate changes to project team members.
- Manage project budgets, tracking and reporting project hours and expenses.
- Manage general project functions, including submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, contract amendments, and document revisions.
- Work with the Superintendent to ensure proper staffing of projects.
- Collaborate with Safety Director and Superintendent to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in commercial, institutional, automotive, and heavy industrial electrical projects.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical project management and estimating.
- Capability to estimate projects exceeding $1 million.
- Proficiency in electrical wiring, installation, and circuit management.
- Strong project management skills in construction environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with estimating software, preferably Accu-Bid.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a start time of 6/7am with a 50-55 hour work week. You will report to the Operations Manager within a team of 125 employees, including 70 Electricians & Field Techs, 12 General Contractors, 6 Project Managers, and 3-4 Estimators. You will have your own desk, phone, and laptop in a team environment that fosters a strong family feel.
