Technician

Description:

The testing technician will be working in a lab setting and providing support and assistance to Sr. Product Managers and inspection technicians in the Regulatory Compliance Laboratory. They will be working with products returned from the field and also doing some proactive testing too. They will be responsible for running multiple tests at once, digital photography, and data entry in the databases and will be expected to have the ability to work independently without supervision.

They have several stations and testing capabilities: wet station for washer and dish, electrical tests, current testing, cook top tests, function testing, temperature testing, gas leak testing, electrical output testing, machine testing, x ray testing. For the cooking testing, they have 4 work stations for cooking - gas (electrical or propane), electric ranges, CO testing data gets entered into records and all tests are documented. This role will be heavily supporting Kitchenaid Small Appliance products. The department requires a lot of critical thinking so very important for this individual to be able to think critically.

Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

• 2 year engineering degree
• Basic mechanical aptitude (Assembly and disassembly of mechanical appliances)
• Hands-on experience
• Problem solving ability
• Proficient with computer apps (Excel for data entry, Google Suites)

PLUSES:

• Working knowledge in electricity
• Experience working in manufacturing or related field
• Experience repairing home appliances or similar products
• Experience in inspecting and identifying root cause to repair needs of mechanical or electrical systems such as appliance, heating and cooling systems etc.
