This individual will be responsible for providing R&D/Engineering technician services to the Bose Audio & Nosie teams. High level activities include getting the vehicle ready for testing, building harnesses, disassembling parts of the vehicle, and installing measurement equipment inside the vehicle. Primary responsibilities … • Set-up vehicle on chassis dynamometers to collect and analyze acoustic data (full vehicle testing). • Vehicle interior acoustic characterization through standard measurement practices. • Understand fundamentals of acoustic measurement and data analysis to setup and collect data. The recognition of measurement issues and effective troubleshooting of test setups is required. • Develop a strong proficiency across a range of test and measurement protocols & methods. • This work is performed primarily 1st shift, but could require an occasional 2nd shift due to flexible test schedules. • Assist in build-up of concept show vehicles and mock systems Tasks performed on a regular basis: • Help to setup and tear down in-vehicle instrumentation (disassembling vehicle trim to access our products, install custom harnesses, etc). • Audio amplifier and speaker removal & replacement/installation will be required. • This individual will be responsible for building and repairing our instrumentation (custom wire harnesses from our products to the measurement devices and other tools) • This individual is encouraged to develop creative solutions to help improve the setup/robustness/organization and efficiency of the equipment that we use • Evaluate/audit vehicles for media events and buy-off rides • Schedule & measure multiple vehicles • Help setup vehicles with our custom test tools for use by Development Engineers and other NVH professionals • Provide noise management troubleshooting and assistance to the OEM • This individual is encouraged to develop creative solutions to help improve the setup/robustness/organization and efficiency of the equipment that we use on a regular basis Work will be performed onsite at the vehicle & dyno lab at GM in Milford 4 days a week, and 1 day a week will be onsite at Bose in Bloomfield Hills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST Haves: - 3 years of previous experience working in a technician capacity - Previous experience building wire harnesses so need to be able to do soldering & crimping - Previous experience disassembling parts of a vehicle - Previous experience fabricating - Previous experience installing measurement equipment - Experience with Excel and Outlook
