The purpose of this job role is to provide leadership of Scrum activities for Agile teams within their team, The person filling this role will work with business product owners, developers, and quality analysts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of Agile software development. This position provides overall business process and technical guidance, acting as a subject matter expert and leader for an Agile team.

This resource will be responsible for two agile teams on the Next Gen POS project. Experience running multiple teams simultaneously is required. Experience with Azure micro-service architecture and POS domain knowledge is strongly preferred. Resource must be local (Grand Rapids area) and available to be on-site, as needed.

What You'll be Doing:

o Provides leadership and high-level technical or functional consultation for new systems development and for the enhancement of existing systems.

o Alignment of teams to the Program Increment (PI) Objectives and delivery of value. Guidance for the team relating to utilization of Agile practices and how to best ensure successful self-organization.

o Ability to lead without explicit authority. Removal of impediments to the teams’ success.

o Facilitation of discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution in support of attainment of value without coercion or dictating the work to be completed.

o Support of and collaboration with the Product Owner (= business owner) with respect to grooming and maintaining the product work backlog.

o Facilitates SAFe ceremonies for the Agile team. Understands Agile principles and systems thinking.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Organizational Management, or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.

o SAFe for Teams certification (SA) a plus.

o Minimum of one year of experience in a Scrum or Agile role within IT.

o 3-5 years performing in a developer, software engineer, application engineer or business analyst role.

o Knowledge of and/or experience with the Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework a plus.

o Proficient skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, relentless improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

o An understanding of how to apply the principles, practices, and theory of the Scrum Master role in Agile development.

o Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with Agile process, tools, and techniques, including Program Kanban boards, User Story writing, Burndown techniques, and Retrospective facilitation.

o Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

o Strong knowledge and experience in developing large systems or many smaller systems.

o Strong knowledge of Agile software development processes and techniques.

o Understanding and translating complex technical concepts into easy to understand business language.

o Strong leadership and team building skills. Ability to work well on cross-functional Agile teams and foster team commitment to tasks.

o Ability to navigate intra-team conflicts and drive resolution.
