Vehicle Instrumentation Technician Job Description • Install measurement equipment into development vehicles, including mechanical and electrical integration. Sensor alignment, SW flash, system integration tasks (diagnostics, measurement recording), wiring, troubleshooting, • Develop Pin-out sheet / 2-D harness Drawing of DAQ/Sensor wiring layouts with relevant software e.g. Harnware, Visio, Excel based on Block Diagrams and Component specs. • Install and debug automotive ECU's and sensors such as Video, Ultrasonic and Radar sensors • Build, troubleshoot, and repair test boxes and wiring harnesses. Basic Qualifications • Minimum 3-5 years related technician experience. Preferred Qualifications • Two-year technical degree. • Wiring/soldering skills (building up harnesses and test boxes), • Light fabrication skills (machine shop) preferred. • Mechanical skills, e.g. Light mechanical skills (drop fascias for sensor access, etc.), • Experience in mechanical and electrical fabrication or related experience • Experience with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook (may include direct work experience or internship experience) • Experience with automotive electronic systems or electronic hardware. • Motivated, flexible, and eager to learn - Ability to complete tasks with little supervision- good communicator that works effectively with application engineers and customers • Familiar with vehicle electronic architecture and controls - Experience with automotive measurement tools (e.g. CANape, CANalzyer) Must have Multimeter experience and understand how to read voltage and amperage in a vehicle Must have electrical experience with wire harness installation/removal
