Now hiring for an Associate Histology Technician at a consultant-based, contract research lab that provides integrated services for discovery and preclinical drug development. They offer a unique alternative by integrating nonclinical disciplines in pharmacology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and pathology into a comprehensive drug discovery and development organization in order to provide robust nonclinical evaluations of drug efficacy, safety, systemic exposure, and metabolism.


  • Assist in the organizing of data packages, enter data into study tracking and SMS
  • Pull slides and organize materials for peer reviews
  • Document all study and laboratory activities as required for compliance
  • Perform preventative maintenance, monitoring, and calibration of laboratory equipment as assigned, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Operate and maintain slide stainer and cover slipper
  • Operate and maintain tissue processors
  • Pre-label tissue cassettes and slides
  • Assist in preparing forms/equipment logs
  • Prepare blocks, slides, and tissues for onsite archive
  • Receive incoming histology materials and purchased products as needed
  • Unpack and examine histology samples/materials received, verify against packing slips, complete inventories/logs as necessary and place in established locations
  • Maintain Histology chemical/reagent/test article receipt logs
  • Label Histology supplies and maintains inventories
  • Package Necropsy materials and label boxes as required
  • Maintain stock reagents, chemicals, and materials
  • Assist in managing hazardous waste and central accumulation area

They will not be dealing with live animals. They receive the animal tissue samples from the Assistant Histology Technicians and start prepping/trimming the tissues for the Pathology Associates to examine.
