Senior Engineer - Mechanical/Utility

POSITION SUMMARY:

Plan conduct and coordinate mechanical utility engineering functions as applied to the production of wet and dry pet food and pet treats. Technical expertise to include project scope creation mechanical engineering design and management of design consultants contractors to ensure that Nestlé Purinas standards and expectations are met from inception to installation of a project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

80 - Provide Mechanical Engineering design and review for capital projects including scope development proposal creations for design consultants basic design reviews detailed design reviews and field observations and commissioning during construction. Position requires coordination of design and construction work by outside consultants to meet Nestle Purina requirements and standards. A broad knowledge of mechanical utility systems technology equipment piping instrumentation diagrams PID generation and review infield. Also requires strong communications skills and ability to perform well on teams.

10 - Provide mechanical engineering technical assistance to operating facilities. Includes planning/implementing investigation and analysis in problem areas or areas of opportunity for mechanical and utility improvements. Requires ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.

10 - Assist in the development/modification of department technical guidelines standards and specifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Minimum:

Education:

-Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

-Licensed Professional Engineer highly recommended.

Experience Years/Type:

-5 Years minimum experience in mechanical/utility design including HVACR (Heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration) liquid handling systems tanks pumps piping heat transfer systems steam systems chill water systems natural gas systems and industrial waste systems MUST HAVE.

-Experience with generating reviewing and field tracing PIDs.

-Field experience reviewing construction progress starting up mechanical equipment commissioning systems and coordinating field work with teammates.

-Experience working in a multi-discipline team to deliver industrial capital projects.

-Experience with projects requiring hygienic food and industrial manufacturing is preferred.

-Experience reviewing 2D drawings and 3D Models.

Skills:

-Process flow development.

-Experience with PID development equipment sizing and specifications.

-Equipment submittal review.

-Construction document review and markup.

-Ability to multi-task across several projects at a time.

-Excellent troubleshooting skills.

-Ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.

-Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Travel:

0-40 to factories and construction sites for field data gathering scope development project reviews construction jobsite observations and commissioning of equipment oversight.
