Job Title: Support Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Support Engineer to establish and maintain systems that track and report on scheduled machine maintenance. This role involves creating an inventory system for repair parts and machine components to minimize downtime during maintenance or repair activities. The Support Engineer will provide regular updates to the engineering manager and strive for continuous improvement in help-desk availability to reduce machine downtime. The position includes directing and participating in equipment installations, scheduling, supervising, and engaging in both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. Additionally, the Support Engineer will review and update existing maintenance procedures and develop new ones as necessary.


Responsibilities

  • Establish a Scheduled Maintenance System to track and report on machine maintenance.
  • Create an inventory system for repair parts and wear items to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on maintenance and repair activities to engineering management.
  • Enhance help-desk availability to minimize unscheduled machine downtime.
  • Direct and participate in the installation of new equipment.
  • Schedule, supervise, and engage in maintenance activities, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Review and update existing maintenance procedures and create new procedures as needed.
  • Participate in the Engineering Group’s continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing and process issues, offering help-desk support.
  • Plan assigned projects and manage project constraints, including budgetary time and material costs.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with PCBA, SMT machines, or selective soldering machines.
  • Troubleshooting skills in SMT or selective soldering machines.
  • Preventive maintenance expertise.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and electronics proficiency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics, Engineering, or a similar field, OR 5+ years of experience in a related field.
  • 1+ year with higher education or 5+ years experience with SMT, Mydata, or Fuji machines.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and high-mix, requiring onsite reporting to the Engineering Manager. The team includes another individual who is retiring, ensuring a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
