Overview

World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT) currently has a Lab Services Engineer position available on the ATC Lab Services Team. The Lab Services team is responsible for leading Proof of Concept and Lab as a Service engagements with our customers.  This includes gathering and understanding required documentation (High Level Diagram, Bill of Materials, and a Test Plan), building lab environments to customer specifications, and executing on an agreed-upon Test Plan.

You’ll be the catalyst for relationships with customers to design, build and test against their multivendor lab architectures. You’ll also collaborate with a high-performing ATC team made up of the brightest, friendliest talent around in multiple technology areas.

 

 

What will you be doing?

Potential candidates will need a deep understanding of route/switch networking technologies, including wireless, and be able to navigate lab environments containing physical/virtualized network, compute, and security components.  The architect will design, build, and support lab scenarios that align with a customer’s business goals.  Common tasks include understanding the customer’s business requirements, scoping potential lab requests from those requirements, designing labs, building labs, and executing test cases within labs.  Documenting test case results is an important aspect of this position.

 

Responsibilities:
Experience in designing, configuring, and deploying enterprise-class networks, including the following:

  • Networking
    • Experience implementing/maintaining a wireless solution
    • Experience implementing an EVPN-VXLAN architecture
    • Experience configuring an access control solution (ISE/ClearPass/etc.)
    • Experience implementing data center routers, switches, and firewalls
    • Understanding of basic security best practices
  • Virtualization
    • Experience deploying and managing virtual machines
    • Experience managing ESXi hosts for a virtual environment
  • Proficiency in the following protocols:
    • BGP
    • EVPN-VXLAN
    • OSPF
    • Multicast
    • TACACS
    • RADIUS
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • CCNP certification or equivalent work experience is required
  • Sound organizational, time management and teamwork skills are required
  • Experience building and troubleshooting multi-protocol SDN networks
  • Experience with network testing methodology
  • Experience in a multi-vendor switching environment

Specific Technology Skills Required:

  • Wireless
  • Routing (BGP, EVPN, OSPF)
  • Layer 2 & Layer 3 Switches
  • VMware ESXi
  • Cisco ISE
  • Basic NGFW
  • Basic Linux CLI
  • Basic Load Balancing Knowledge
