Job Summary

World Wide Technology has an opening for a Senior Project Manager to support the Solutions Consulting & Engineering (SC&E) Strategic Initiatives & Operations team. This role will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Services Strategic Initiatives and will be responsible for working with the project teams to assess business needs, gather requirements, and help understand and improve work processes.

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for leading large matrixed teams to deliver complex project(s) that span across the organization. Manage resources, schedules, and adhere to required project management governance and controls. This also includes management of issues, risks and change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. This role may also contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Sr. Project Manager will exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be self-directed, and proven experience in a leadership role, as they will be responsible for the day-to-day project activities of the matrixed team. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions / Competencies 

  • Manage a one or more complex projects that span multiple time zones with matrixed team members
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities to the project teams to build and motivate team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Manage a matrixed team
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Prepare a detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating to leadership as needed
  • Understands and manages interdependencies across projects or workstreams managed by other project managers
  • Manage project scope and changes
  • Manage all aspects of project from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, change, risks and issues
  • Set and continually manage project expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  • Ensure that projects are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
  • Manage project issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline





  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent 

Certifications – Optional

  • PMI Project Management Professional or equivalent preferred

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager working with technical systems.
  • Technology industry background preferred
  • Leadership skills and background preferred

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

  • Self-directed, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from clients, team members, stakeholders and peers
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), SmartSheets, Visio, etc
  • Builds productive relationships with peers and senior leaders and delivers on commitments to gain trust and respect.
