Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for rooming and providing care to 18-22 patients daily for one physician. You will conduct full workups including obtaining previous medical history, taking manual vitals, performing blood draws, and reconciling medications. This role is crucial in serving a patient demographic primarily aged 55 and older, focusing on the underserved population.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full patient workups, including medical history collection and manual vital sign recording.
- Perform blood draws using both straight needle and butterfly techniques.
- Reconcile patient medications accurately.
- Provide care and support to an underserved patient population, primarily aged 55 and older.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited program in Medical Assistance, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with drawing blood on elderly patients is a plus.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is advantageous.
- Proficiency in EMR systems is preferred.
Work Environment
The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will be responsible for rooming 18-22 patients daily, with appointments set at 30-minute intervals.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
