Master HVAC Technician / Building Maintenance Specialist
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience & certifications)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Charlotte, NC (Route‑based servicing local bank branches)
Work Type: On‑site | Company vehicle provided
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Master‑level HVAC Technician to support preventative maintenance and repair operations across multiple commercial bank facilities in the Charlotte area. This role is ideal for a self‑directed, certified HVAC professional who is comfortable working independently, managing daily work orders, and servicing high‑quality commercial environments.
The position is route‑based, includes a company van taken home daily, paid travel time, and offers long‑term stability in a professional, safety‑focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel between assigned bank branch locations to inspect, maintain, and repair building systems, with a primary focus on commercial HVAC equipment.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, cleaning, calibration, and part replacement on HVAC systems and related equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance by recording readings and making operational adjustments to ensure optimal system efficiency.
- Manage daily work orders using a mobile work‑order application on a company‑issued iPhone.
- Independently plan and sequence daily service calls to ensure efficient route coverage and minimal downtime.
- Support general facility maintenance related to building infrastructure, including mechanical, structural, fire/life safety, and control systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records in compliance with facility and safety standards.
- Perform routine inventory checks of tools, instruments, and replacement parts.
- Assist with purchasing and inventory control related to facility maintenance needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and pricing of work completed by external contractors.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Proactively identify, report, and correct safety hazards while maintaining strong housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- EPA Universal Certification (Required)
- 2–4+ years of commercial HVAC experience, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience servicing commercial HVAC systems, including R22 and R410A.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a commercial environment.
- Comfort using technology, including mobile applications, iPhones, and basic computer programs (Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master HVAC Technician or equivalent advanced certifications.
- Prior experience working independently on a mobile or route‑based maintenance schedule.
- Completion of at least two years of trade school in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems.

Work Environment & Service Area
- Based in Charlotte, NC, with service coverage including Charlotte, Matthews, Monroe, and surrounding areas.
- Multiple site visits per day, typically within 30 minutes of each other.
- Candidate must reside within 20–25 minutes of Charlotte.
- Consistent, predictable routing and scheduling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
