Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician with expertise in interpreting PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical control systems. This role involves working with various brands including Allen-Bradley, GE, and Siemens. The ideal candidate will have a solid experience in industrial electrical controls and a strong understanding of the National Electric Code.
Responsibilities:
+ Interpret and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and electrical control systems.
+ Work with PLC, robotics, servos, drives, and touchscreens using a laptop.
+ Fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.
+ Read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics.
+ Operate power shop tools and common hand tools.
+ Meet work at heights requirements when operating a scissor lift.
+ Develop continuous improvement plans and recommend more efficient and cost-effective methods.
+ Perform formal root cause analysis effectively.
+ Engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies.
+ Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with team members.
Essential Skills:
+ 5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or educational equivalent.
+ Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
+ Ability to interpret and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic.
+ Solid PC computing skills.
+ Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law.
+ Ability to fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.
+ Proficiency in reading and updating electrical and pneumatic schematics.
+ Capability to operate power shop tools and common hand tools.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ 2-year technical degree in electronics/PLC troubleshooting (Associate's degree).
+ Experience with Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens PLCs.
+ Strong electrical, troubleshooting, and control circuit experience.
+ Preventive maintenance and HMI expertise.
+ Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out training.
+ Ability to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps.
+ Must pass written and practical electrical test.
+ Vision and hearing requirements must be met.
Work Environment:
This role is based in a large industrial manufacturing environment exceeding 1 million square feet. The work requires the use of steel-toe boots and safety glasses. Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment where they will stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps.
Shift Information:
This posting is for First, Second, and Third shift positions, with the hours being from 7:00AM-3:30PM, 3 P.M. – 11:30 P.M, 11:00PM-7:00 AM. candidates must be willing and able to work these designated hours.
