Job Title: Product Definition Engineer

Job Description

The Product Definition Engineer is a member of the Configuration Management (CM) team and a key contributor responsible for managing the lifecycle of objects within our PLM system. This role ensures these objects have the proper relationship to the product structure and follow all applicable policies and procedures. • Become a subject matter expert as it relates to the plant product structure within PLM. • Create part, specification, design basis, and reference objects in the PLM system. • Work with Engineers to define necessary attributes of PLM objects. • Create Change Action to release objects in PLM. • Maintain standard design and project-specific product structures in PLM. • Perform Responsible Configuration Management (RCM) reviews of technical documentation, ensuring that the documentation meets all CM requirements for submittal. • Coordinate CM-related activities with interfacing internal groups [e.g., other engineering teams, Project Management, Sourcing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs] as well as external organizations [e.g., parent company entities, partners, suppliers, regulators]. • Develop in-depth knowledge of CM processes and tools within the assigned area of responsibility. • Support quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, and initiating and responding to Corrective Actions.

Hard Skills

• Associates Degree in Engineering, business, data, or related field
• 1-5 years experience with a PLM software (Enovia is ideal, but open to other systems)
• Experience creating objects and building BOM structure
• Interface with a manufacturing or engineering environment within the PLM

Soft Skills

• Ability to communicate and interface with a large interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
