Job Title: Project Manager
Job Description
The Project Manager will provide comprehensive project management, including coordination of tasks and activities, attendance at test events, and preparation of reports and presentations. This role involves leading the full lifecycle of acquisition and software development programs, from systems engineering and requirements definition through delivery, fielding, and sustainment. The position requires active participation in technical discussions and reviews with teams and government customers, offering project status updates, risk insights, and strategic metrics. The manager will also assist analytical, technical, and engineering personnel with investigations, data evaluation, problem-solving, and implementation of solutions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage tasks and activities related to projects.
- Attend test events and coordinate visits and briefings.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Lead acquisition and software development programs throughout their lifecycle.
- Participate in technical discussions and reviews, providing project status and risk insights.
- Communicate effectively with management, customers, suppliers, and quality division to facilitate program success.
- Assist engineering personnel with investigations and evaluations of data, components, and systems.
- Implement solutions or modifications to meet customer requirements.
- Use Microsoft Excel and MS Project to track project metrics.
Essential Skills
- Program management experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience with RFP and contracts management.
- PMP certification is desired.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Experience with the Department of Defense or aerospace projects.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Familiarity with munitions, weapons, and ammunitions.
- Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office software.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and GD&T.
- Strong multitasking and management skills for multiple engineering projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Engineering degree (BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar) or a Business or Computer Science degree with relevant DoD experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management of technical development programs for DoD projects.
- Knowledge of DoD programs related to Ammunitions, Munitions, and Weapons Systems.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience guiding less experienced engineering and technical personnel.
