Job Title: Senior CAD Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CAD Technician for our New Jersey Office. The ideal candidate will provide CAD drafting and Civil 3D modeling to support various projects, while also creating templates and CAD standards for operations. This role involves preparation of roadway, highway, bridge, and infrastructure plans for county and state-level clients in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drafting and Civil 3D modeling to support projects.
• Create templates and CAD standards for operations.
• Prepare roadway, highway, bridge, and infrastructure plans for New Jersey county and state-level clients.
• Set up and maintain file systems for project drawings and models.
• Develop and update templates for optimizing workflows.
• Produce high-quality infrastructure models and drawings.
• Lead in the development, standardization, and maintenance of CAD standards and libraries locally.
• Review input from project managers and lead designers, ensuring all comments are incorporated into models and drawings.
• Support the training and development of junior staff in AutoCAD and Civil 3D modeling.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for design and drafting.
• Experience with Microstation software, specifically for producing New Jersey Department of Transportation plans.
• Expertise in preparing roadway, highway, bridge, and infrastructure plans for county and state-level clients in New Jersey.
• Strong CAD drafting and Civil 3D modeling skills.
• Ability to design, draft, and perform civil engineering design tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in engineering, architecture, drafting from a technical institute or accredited curriculum.
• 7+ years of experience as an AutoCAD draftsperson/modeler in Civil/Site Engineering with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling.
• Significant attention to detail.
• Ability to meet project schedules and deadlines within budget.
• Experience coordinating with other disciplines and offices.

Work Environment

This position offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The hours are from 8am to 5pm. You will be working on a team of about 9 civil engineers and CAD drafters. The office environment is dynamic and collaborative, fostering upward mobility and professional growth.
