Healthcare company is seeking Specimen Processors for growing department. Candidates will be in working in a fast paced lab sorting specimens, verifying accuracy, and keying information from labels. Ideal candidate will have prior lab experience or prior specimen processing experience.

Description:

Client is seeking detail oriented processors who enjoy working in a fast paced environment. The processors have an essential, frontline role in the lab receiving and sorting specimens, verifying the accuracy of requisitions, preparing specimens for testing, keying information for labeling, and requisitioning. Processors will be keying in information such as name, address, DOB, and doctor notes. Samples that the processors may handle are urine and possible tissues from various surgeries. This role provides an excellent opportunity to start a career in the healthcare field. Some processors have even been promoted to lab leads or histo techs.

Work Environment

Will be working in a Specimen Lab during the night shift and will be part of a team around 10. The lab is very fast paced as they need to make sure to get all the specimens processed every day/night before they can leave. Will be processing specimen and receiving samples from the delivery drivers.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 5PM to 1:30AM. Position is typically between 35-40 hours a week. The hours can vary because they have to finish all samples before able to leave for the night. Some time can be working until 2AM or 3AM depending on volume.

Dress code: Contractors are allowed to wear jeans (no holes) and must wear closed toed shoes. Client prefers everyone wear scrubs if possible.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma required. GPA would prefer an interest in the medical/healthcare field, perhaps with a certification in biology, chemistry, medical assisting, etc. Prior lab, medical terminology experience, or accessioning experience
