Accounts Payable Specialist
Raleigh, NC | 6 month contract to hire | $20-$25/hour
Hybrid - 4 days in office, 1 day remote
Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their growing business within the aggregates and raw materials industry. Reporting into the A/P Supervisor, this position will be responsible for processing payments for over 400 locations. In addition, duties include matching invoices to purchase orders receipts, works with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies and performs other clerical duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform three way voucher matches (PO, Receipt, Invoice) to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Meet or exceed processing metrics (measured and reported daily) including but not limited to entering a minimum of 200 invoices per day within tolerated target error rates
- Follow P3 processing flows and work instructions and report discrepancies to manager
- Work with assigned P3 partner(s) to process supplier volumes as needed
- Create payment request forms to facilitate payments/credits to suppliers outside P3 processing
- Perform Non-Purchase Order processing to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Review, research and resolve duplicate invoices, credits, and errors
- Communicate daily with locations using approved communication protocols
- Participate and collaborate in team meetings
- Identify and log location issues
- Review and reconcile supplier statements
- Edit and document work instructions as assigned
- Learn P3 special processing functions as assigned
- Learn PV special processing functions as assigned
- Work with manager on special projects including auditing work instructions, testing, and facilitating creation of training materials
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent education required; Associates degree in Accounting preferred
- 5+ years of prior Accounts Payable experience
- Strong work ethic; commitment to quality and detail
- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task
- JDE experience preferred
