TEK systems Global Manufacturing and retail client is looking for an experienced Cisco Network Engineer to join their organization. This is a rapid growing organization and team. This position will spend their first 6-12 months learning the Global environment and impacting day to day operations and becoming involved in special projects related to Cisco Architecture, Wireless, VoIP, etc. There is great opportunity for benefits, flexibility, training and chance to join a global company scattered across 25 countries and 65 cities. Job Summary: We are currently seeking an exceptional candidate to be part of the Global Network Infrastructure team. This position is an IT Administrator (Network) that will work with IT staff, IT Management, and key personnel from other departments to identify, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the organization. This position plays a key role in supporting the information technology systems that are core to the infrastructure. Responsibilities include: installation, implementation and administration of Data Centre and Global Networks. Responsible for compliance with established company standards and best practices. Consults with other groups, end users, and management to assist in troubleshooting of network issues and application problems within company. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area: • Identifies and documents all network hardware and software using a variety of sources • Identifies new technology and suggest changes to company infrastructure strategy to management including new network designs • Lead and complete successfully all assigned network infrastructure projects • Monitors and responds quickly to any performance and/or security issues on the network • Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks from the simple to complex • Possesses a strong work ethic, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail • Owns the learning process eagerly seeking opportunities to develop new skills • Actively participates in the upgrade and installation of new and existing network equipment • Demonstrates initiative in completing assignments, always focusing on the needs of the customer • Responds with a sense of urgency and provides customer friendly technical support and guidance to users • Support the business functions, offices and IT service\applications to meet defined corporate SLA’s. • Develops and matures network processes required to support and scale the companies IT service functions • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members • Assists with network systems design and engineering in support of new systems, services and scalability • Constantly striving for improvements in network performance, uptime and security • Collaborate with other IT teams and assists with project delivery • Perform other related duties as required. In addition, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time. Ideal Candidate Possesses These Attributes: Technical • 5+ years hands on LAN/WAN design, architecture and implementation experience • Extensive knowledge in routing and core switching • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards, including: BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Cisco's Data Center Network Design and Architecture, as well as Hierarchical Network Design, Cisco Routers and Switches including: 2900, 3600 series as well as Nexus 9000 series • Extensive knowledge in data MPLS and internet circuit management • Experience in designing and managing connectivity in a multi-site environment • Experienced in understanding and interpreting system and network performance and analytical data. • Excellent network hardware and technology troubleshooting skills • Competence understanding voice and data circuits functionality • Experience in Cisco VoIP system administration • Experience in designing, installing and supporting wireless network with possible Airmagnet wireless site survey skill set is a plus • Experience in Solarwind network monitoring tool administration is a plus • Experience in NAC management is a plus • Elementary Palo Alto firewall knowledge is a plus • Certifications preferred, but not required: CCNA, CCNP Functional • Self-motivated and independent with very little supervision • Team player • Driven to achieve task success • Highly collaborative and possesses interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a wide range of individuals from Sr. Managers, Business users, and other IT professionals • Sets standards of excellence • Can efficiently multi-task • Champion boundary-less collaboration in order to ensure the most effective use of the processes and resources • Establish and leverage credibility through consistent demonstration of excellence, execution, and subject matter expertise
