Senior Controls Engineer (Remote)

Actalent is looking for full-time Controls Engineer to support our client, onsite in Amherst, NY

We are hiring for multiple roles, ranging from mid-level to experienced.

Responsibilities:

• Provides guidance and direction for other members of the electrical and controls engineering team.
• Plans and programs logic control system for functions such as sequence, temperature, pressure, flow, voltage, current, and timing.
• Illustrates and describes the concept, installation, and maintenance details of component functionality and system sequence of operation.
• Reviews schematics with customer's representatives to answer questions during pre- and post-sale of product.
• May confer with assembler and wirer to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
• Prepares all documentation necessary for production as well as customer support (proposals, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, manuals, technical instructions, etc.).
• Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities; investigates sources of special equipment, material, or devices. Obtains quotes, prepares requisitions, and qualifies supplier components.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with Data Centers
• Experience with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, piping systems
• Experience with PLC programming and structured text language
• 10 years of experience with controls
• Proficient with MS Office 365
• Knowledge of specifications, codes, and standards used in commercial HVAC and datacenter industry (UL, ETL, NEC, IEC, NFPA)
• Good mathematical and electro-mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable speaking with and the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
• Ability to practice discretion when communicating appropriate information to a variety of audiences
