Position Overview
As a Junior Production Engineer, you will support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives at our Bronx manufacturing and packaging site. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with a passion for problem-solving, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration in a GMP-regulated environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical or food industry)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand process documentation
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations Support
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify and address operational issues
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process inefficiencies
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in Lean Six Sigma and Zero Loss initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Support small-scale improvement projects and track their impact
- Use tools like Pareto charts and downtime tracking to identify improvement opportunities
- Technical Support
- Assist in implementing process changes and equipment upgrades
- Support validation activities including URS, FAT, IQ/OQ/PQ documentation
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, OSHA, and environmental regulations
- Quality & Compliance
- Contribute to root cause investigations for quality incidents
- Help develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality systems protocols
