Lab Technician

Job Description

Under limited supervision, conducts in-process and finished product testing to determine adherence to established specifications of quality and purity.

Essential Job Functions:

* Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research.

* Test and analyze products such as flour to determine if the product meets plant specifications prior to release.

* Release in-spec vessels and report out-of-spec vessels.

* Test and analyze production samples and report uncharacteristic results.

* Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client).

* Complete certificates of analysis.

* Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab.

* Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation.

* Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.

* Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements.

* Other duties as assigned.

Hard Skills

• A.S. or prior laboratory experience preferred, but open to individuals from a manufacturing background that are looking to get into a laboratory setting
• Ability to work on multiple tasks

• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements
• Computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs
• Demonstrated math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in BUFFALO, NY.

Work Environment

2nd shift 2PM-10PM Tuesday - Saturday
