The Team:
The Market Data Management and Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for effectively managing Nasdaq's external spend, while continuously seeking areas of opportunity to create cost efficiencies throughout the firm. In addition, this team's mission is to offer comprehensive spend transparency through innovative analytics. The team utilizes this data to optimize expenses through the application of traditional and non-traditional cost reduction strategies.
Your role and responsibilities
Your role will primarily be responsible for both leading and supporting special projects and expense management activities across the market data spend category within the firm. This role will include market data sourcing, analysis, administration, and inventory management functions. The Market Data Sourcing team manages the firm's global procurement relationships with providers of market data content and services while partnering with internal business units to evaluate and understand their market data requirements. Additionally, this role will act to identify the data sources needed to support the business, and to influence and advise on best-fit solutions. Key functions of the market data sourcing role include strategic data provider relationship management, advisor to business units utilizing market data, and the negotiation & execution of data agreements. This role will also benefit from experience in general strategic sourcing, and project and change management. This role will include exposure to senior management.

The base pay range for this role is $72,500 - $120,800. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Responsibilities:
- Identifies, establishes, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers internally and externally
- Analyzes internal market data spend to identify savings opportunities and purchasing strategies
- Provides market data subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders, team members, colleagues, etc. on projects
- Supports the management and administration of Nasdaq's market data agreements and terminal inventory (market data mgmt. platform)
- Participates in both internal and external projects that are broad in scope and closely tied to organizational strategy
- Contributes to the improvement and development of strategic, operational, and tactical processes to achieve the most cost effective and efficient market data sourcing practices
- Coordinates discussions and reviews with various internal and external stakeholders
- Leads/assists competitive bid evaluations and provides recommendations based on thorough analysis
- Creates executive summary presentations for senior management review
You will need the following skills and experience
- Education Requirements: Degree qualified in relevant discipline or equivalent working experience
- Experience Requirements: 5 to 10 years of experience in relevant discipline
- Communication Requirements: Comfortable presenting to senior leadership using Microsoft PowerPoint
- Analytics Requirements: Ability to quickly prioritize reporting requests and articulate the results using Microsoft Excel or other reporting tools
- Competency Requirements: Market Data Management Platform (E.g., MDSL MDM, TRG Screen, etc.), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Vendor Management Systems (VMS), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) source systems such as Coupa, SAP Fieldglass and/or Ariba
