Quality Assurance (QA) Technician

Location: Hobart, New York

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Quality Assurance Technician to ensure the quality and performance of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of QA processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various products.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Perform manual and automated testing on a variety of platforms (web, mobile, and desktop).
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Conduct regression testing after fixes and enhancements.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback related to quality and performance.
  • Continuously refine and improve testing processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare and maintain testing documentation, including test strategies and reports.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in QA and software testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a QA role, preferably in a tech environment (2+ years).
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit) is a plus.
  • Understanding of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
