Job Description

*60 hrs/wk max.

*12 month contact with strong possibility of extension based on performance.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Process Field Engineer PFE provides on-site technical engineering support during construction activities throughout the project life cycle. The PFE responsibilities include providing resolution to technical installation issues during the construction and execution of commissioning IQ OQ PQ through handover phases of the capital projects following mechanical codes and the provided design documentation packages. Additionally the PFE will support SAT utility equipment process and packaging equipment response to RFIs and verification of contractors adherence to all mechanical design QA/QC documentation escalating technical issues to St. Louis design as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support daily construction leadership of project team from direction of the CM.

2. Support QA/QC installation of Equipment and Utilities/Buildings infrastructure

3. Support the creation and execution construction plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

4. Support STL Engineering resources as needed and aligns field tasks with CM for execution by construction teams.

5. Review and approve field RFIs

6. Provides input for construction status reviews and quality assurance procedures.

7. Minimizes Client's exposure and risk on project.

8. Ensures project documents are complete current and stored appropriately based on established processes

a. Supports tracking and reports hours and expenses on a regular basis for disciplined construction activities.

b. Supports the CM in providing regular forecast and expense updates to project budget.

c. Supports the CM to align timely and accurate invoicing following EVM and QIS.

d. Supports tracking and monitoring of project receivables.

e. Supports QA/QC and construction closeout activities.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATION Minimum:

1. Bachelors degree- preferrable in Electrical Engineering but will consider Chemical or

Mechanical Engineering as well. Other related degrees would be Construction Management Project Management both with more experience.

2. Minimum of 1-2 years of related project experience.

3. OSHA 30 is PREFERRED.

4. Experience supporting technical resolution throughout the life cycle of construction/commissioning.

5. High level understanding of utilities and building mechanical systems including controls interface/interlocks between equipment and controls systems.

6. Must be highly articulate have a clear and analytical approach to problem solving

7. Must have strong decision-making abilities.

8. Must have strong communication and presentation skills.

9. Be able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills.

10. Must be able to handle numerous technical commercial and administrative skills.

11. Must have a thorough understanding of Project Management Building Design and Construction Scheduling Risk Analysis and support Cost Modeling.

12. Must have a thorough understanding and utilization of Information Technology. Including: Internet MS Windows Adobe Acrobat MS Office Suite programs Word Excel Project Access One Note.

13. Duties include supporting the preparation coordination and review of process equipment and building drawing packages.

14. Most assignments are performed independently. May make decisions on technical issues and methods.

15. Handles confidential specifications drawings and product/marketing information.

16. Communicate clearly and concisely with NPE vendors contractors Field Staff Project Staff and the Factories.

17. Must have working knowledge of:

-Hazardous Energy Control Procedures HECP.

-Lock Out Tagout procedures.

-Process Flow Diagrams PFDs and Basic Process Operation Theory of Operation.

-Process Instrumentation Diagrams Pids and Commissioning and Start-Up Support.

-Power system analysis short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analysis.

- Building Automation systems BAS.


Additional Skills & Qualifications
