Title: Data Center Technician
Job Description:
Rate: $20-23.50 an hour (is varied based on location)
Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
Deployment services to support the new site RNG build out, IDF network build out, AFI cluster deployment, and GPU cluster installation.
Technicians will provide the following services as directed:
• Rack and equipment installation.
• Move, de-install and re-install equipment and components as required.
• Install patch cords.
• Install Hot Aisle Containment (HAC) units and related equipment and hardware.
• Install fiber runner and basket tray as needed.
• Remove and replace defective equipment, as instructed by MSFT representative.
• Install optics into devices as instructed by Microsoft representatives.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair functions as necessary within the scope of this contract.
• Provide Scope Development with Microsoft Operations Team.
• Create BOM’s for material in support of Scope as needed.
• Tracking material orders for small projects developed by the Microsoft Operations Team.
Device cabling
• Install cable including copper 4 pair, multi-pair and fiber optic cable.
• Install pathways as necessary to support and protect cable.
• Dress, terminate and label copper and fiber optic cable.
• Install ancillary equipment such as racks, cabinets, patch panels, etc. as part of the cabling projects.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair functions as necessary.
• Update all documentation as requested by Microsoft representative.
• Maintain and update red line drawings as needed.
• Miscellaneous support functions i.e. paperwork, procurement, etc. as necessary to support the site projects.
• Participate in all required safety and manufacturer certification training and site-specific training.
• Provide all personal and team-required tools and equipment.
Pre-Rack deployments
• Uncrating and un-palletizing racks.
• Rolling racks from dock to COLO.
• Placing racks on tile.
• Dropping the feet on the racks.
• Leveling of racks
• Baying the racks together.
• Grounding the racks.
• Labeling the racks with tile location (front and back).
