Job Description
The primary role of a Construction Manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities in areas such as engineering, research and development, financial systems, and product roll-out. The position involves overseeing construction operations and ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects by making detailed plans to achieve goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
- Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Oversee construction operations at the Early Works site in Columbus, OH as the senior representative.
- Construction management and project management with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Earthworks experience of at least 5 years.
- Review and interpretation of construction drawings for 10 years.
- Management of project cost and schedule for 10 years.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Familiarity with computer software such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc.
- PMP or PMI certification is preferred.
This position is based on-site at CMH18 in Hebron, OH. The work schedule aligns with the general contractor's work week, with an expectation of up to 60 hours per week. The role may require up to 20 hours of overtime if necessary. The construction manager will operate in an environment that requires effective communication and execution of project goals.
