Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work on supporting proprietary built test machines and developing new capabilities within existing systems, focusing on IoT solutions and B&R Automation hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Support existing proprietary built test machines using B&R Automation hardware and software.
- Develop new capabilities within existing systems.
- Support and develop IoT solutions for various assets using custom-designed circuit boards and JavaScript programming.
- Program and troubleshoot B&R PLCs.
- Decide and implement appropriate design methods and protocols.
- Work closely with IT, Data Science, Software Engineers, Operation Excellence, Lab personnel, and supporting staff.
- Maintain close guidance of advanced Engineers and external sources to address technical issues and conduct routine analysis.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming, preferably with B&R Automation.
- Knowledge of industrial automation, electrical design, controls, and IoT.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and program software and control systems.
- Experience with structured text.
- US Citizenship required.
- Familiarity with JavaScript programming.
- Experience with IoT hardware and software solutions.
The position is primarily based in Fairfield, OH, with the possibility of remote work and occasional travel (approximately 10%) to various lab sites for troubleshooting and installations. The role involves collaboration with multiple teams in a lab-based company that provides diverse material testing solutions across North America and Europe.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $55.00/hr.
