General Summary
Responsible to the Maintenance Manager for planning & supervising of the activities of the Electrical & Instrumentation Departments. He will be available for consultations & assistance in problems of maintenance, staff & operations throughout the mill.
Prerequisites
Education: BS Degree in Engineering
Work Experience: Five (5) years in Engineering Preferred, with two (2) of those years in the Pulp & Paper Industry.
Skills: Possess written & verbal communication skills & engineering knowledge.
Training:
Other: Ability to work well with all levels of management
Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to...
1. Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical & Instrumentation Departments.
2. Maintains compliance with ISO Quality System responsibilities.
3. Schedule & coordinate Electrical & Instrument Maintenance shutdowns, repairs & construction work in cooperation with the Mechanical Maintenance area. Operating Departments & Plant Engineering Department.
4. Issue requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to Electrical & Instrument Maintenance work, which are not furnished by Central Storeroom or Engineering.
5. Direct the administration of company policy & programs pertaining to the performance, training, safety & morale of all personnel under his supervision.
6. Cooperate in the establishment & continuance of a safety program to education the foremen & hourly workers in safe work methods & have a comprehensive knowledge of possible electrical & instrument safety hazards in the mill.
7. Keep the Maintenance Reliability Manager informed of all current & long-range personnel & maintenance problems & plans.
8. Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders & capital jobs & in preparation of the annual departmental operating & capital budgets.
9. Maintain accurate & up-to-date maintenance records & information on all machinery, equipment & buildings.
10. Coordinate activities with outside contractors working in his area of responsibility.
