Senior System Administrator


Job Description

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for employee management activities at various locations and divisions for a specific client. This role’s primary responsibilities include efficient IT service management and process improvement to IS systems used in client engagement. The ability to communicate clearly, deliver a high level of customer service, execute on project deliverables, and think with the future in mind are key attributes for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct end-user assistance to solve customers’ administrative and technical problems on client-level workstations, end-user devices, peripherals, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and demonstrate problem-solving skills in identification of the root causes of business performance and execution issues by using process and data analysis. Platforms include: Windows, Entra/Azure/Intune, and Engineering or CAD Software.
  • Participate in procurement of hardware and software assets for customer and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee ITSM application and ensure support provided is captured within the system in a timely and professional manner; review ticket completion/escalations; provide data and reporting to IT management staff.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects in accordance with project goals.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner to Manager for support, approval, and/or resolution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of demonstrated leadership skills managing virtual teams of diverse skill sets.
  • 5+ years of IT related experience.
  • Ability to provide coaching and mentoring to operational team members in the areas of technical skills & competencies.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and take initiative under the pressure of demanding timelines.
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge of software including Windows, Office, Entra/Azure/Intune, and Engineering or CAD programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • ITIL certification preferred.
  • Refcr2023.
