Intern, Digital Services Center - 3D Print & Additive Manufacturing
POSITION PROFILE
The Intern will gain hands-on work experience by participating in work projects in the focus areas of Digital Services Center focused to Additive Manufacturing & 3D Print. They will assist in the completion of projects while learning in a professional environment. Participates in operating and maintaining additive manufacturing (AM) production systems. Follows documented processes, controls, and measurement standards in Ricoh's AM production facilities.
Accountable for deadline compliance, cost management, equipment and facility maintenance, and quantity and quality of output produced. Performs equipment maintenance and service protocols. Support production manager and senior technicians, complying with all applicable regulatory, legal, security, and internal requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs daily production workflow processes, including manufacturing, finishing, quality check,
packaging, and shipping.
• Assist with refining the facility's production workflow, considering all regulatory and good
manufacturing practices and requirements.
• Utilizes equipment and software tools, including devices, software, and other additive
manufacturing machines and related devices as needed.
• Complies with all regulatory and production standards and certification requirements.
• Monitors usage through procedures, logs, and other administrative tools.
• Collaborates with the rest of the production team to install, operate, and maintain all equipment,
post-processing stations, tools, and other components required to produce parts.
• Maintains optimal device performance through preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment
calibration.
• Coordinates with third-party/OEM external repair services partners or Ricoh service personnel.
• Works to achieve customer satisfaction by finishing projects accurately on time.
• Works to improve the product through refinement of post-processing techniques and tool/technology
selection.
• Supports continuous improvement and client-focused culture within all areas of the site.
• Effectively executes all quality assurance processes and standards.
• Assists in investigating production problems, customer complaints, and product quality issues;
collaborates with other functional areas to identify the root cause and assist in implementing
corrective action/countermeasure.
• Performs warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions to receive and store materials for processing
and distributing finished goods.
• Helps to track inventory of equipment consumables following company guidelines and processes.
• Supports the Production Manager in achieving site profitability by effectively utilizing site use
of materials, supplies, and labor.
• Completes documentation as necessary.
• Continually seeks to advance Ricoh's AM production systems and standards.
• Routinely demonstrates and creates a supportive and positive work culture.
• Encourages and builds positive relationships, communicating effectively with all co-workers and vendors.
• Works closely with assigned manager to learn and understand the diverse issues of the assigned function
• Researches, provides analysis, and offers solutions relating to a variety of functional projects
• Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
• Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or recently graduated within one calendar year of the program deadline.
• Industry-specific certifications are a plus.
• An understanding of CAD, 3D, or mesh modeling is suggested.
• Hands-on experience in woodworking, clay modeling, or any other craft that requires a blend of dexterity
and precision is an asset.
• Experience with standard business software required.
• Prior experience in packaging & shipping operations a plus.
• Students required to be enrolled or have received a degree in a related major in the department of interest and posses some former work or internship experience
• Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Students are to successfully complete all required screenings prior to hire

• Work is performed in multiple environments, including typical office and manufacturing.
• Requires careful handling of delicate parts.
• Requires regular communication with the quality, production, and engineering teams.
• Work is fast-paced and deliberate due to the impact of the applicant's decisions on production results.
• Minor physical effort is required, which may involve extended periods of standing, walking, or similar
activities.
• Requires moderate dexterity - regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, etc.)
• Overtime and on-call schedules may be required to complete tasks on time.
