Project Engineer

Job Description

This person will be responsible for estimating, designing, and specifying HVAC/R systems in a retrofit/design-build setting with highly variable projects for commercial and industrial applications

• Estimate and design HVAC/R systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, drawings, and other service retrofit/designbuild documents for the installation of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to develop project designs and optimize system performance.
• Conduct detailed site surveys to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges related to mechanical system installations.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for mechanical systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during estimating, installation, start-up, and commissioning phases.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate equipment and materials for projects, considering cost, quality, and compatibility.
• Remain up to date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new technologies and best practices into mechanical system designs

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estimating and designing HVAC systems in a retrofit/design-build setting.
• Proficiency in Excel
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. • Effective communication and interpe
