Engineering Technician

Description:

This position will be responsible will be responsible to prototype, testing and process documentation of all aspects of R&D and Product Building. This R&D location is responsible for around 700-800 prototypes per year that are sent to other sites for further verification and testing.

• Manage the manufacturing and assembly process relative to the up-fitting of vehicles
• Perform a variety of assembly operations using hand tools, power tools and other equipment
• Verify completed assemblies meet engineering requirements to fulfill customer needs
• Responsible for working with the Operations Team for meeting timelines and development of on-site early unit production
• Assist in the identification, implementation, and evaluation of lean initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency rates
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations purchasing and others to develop processes
• Coordinate with Quality Engineer to identify quality concerns and help develop and implement corrective actions
• Analyze and support engineering deviations and change requests

Qualifications:

MUST:

• Proficient experience working with variety of hand tools, power tools and other equipment used in automotive settings
• Vehicle teardown and re-build experience
• Blueprint reading
• Ability to perform electrical and mechanical assemblies

Preferred:

• Vehicle prototype development experience
• Strong technical background in automotive driveline systems
• Electric Vehicle experience
• High voltage safety knowledge preferred. Safety certifications
