Job Purpose:


This position will lead the development of hardware and software technologies into our vehicles to enhance comfort, safety, and user experience towards creating a top-class infotainment platform.


Key Accountabilities Breakdown:


20% - Direct selected suppliers to design and manage the component to maturation schedule requirements.

15% - Confirm actual hands-on performance that may include developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance.

15% - Write clear and concise reports, presentations and/or technical documents to make a record of the development activities, communicating directly with Technical Experts.

10% - Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly.

10% - Develop, write and issue specification requirements for system components.

10% - Analyze/interpret test results, predict performance/failure and provide required product/design data.

5% - Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software & communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands.

5% - Effectively communicate the development schedule and report status of component functions to different company areas/departments.

5% - Research and influence the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods.

5% - Propose, develop and justify any new functions (hardware, software, HMI, etc.) to meet the market requirements.


Essential Function and Responsibilities:


Constant communication with supplier to report Honda requirements, remain aware of development status, and arrange scheduling of reporting content (ex: SYS VERIF, SOFTW GO, etc).

Report development content.

Meet development milestones on schedule.

Investigate/identify problem root cause with supplier support (if needed).

Able to track multiple activities happening simultaneously to close out items on schedule.

Able to communicate status of development clearly and succinctly to TE, CE, MGMT, team.

Arrange necessary communication with other Honda entities & Suppliers to correlate customer viewpoint reflection.

Direction to supplier to develop specifications that can achieve first round review approval.

Determine test results and plans satisfy requirements (incl. sound performance judgement, certifications).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Co-Op experience within the Product testing space.



Work Environment

  • R/D work environment, working with several groups and department within infotainment team.
  • Paid shutdown, 10 days PTO, and holiday pay (8)
  • The infotainment group is the fastest growing and highly invested department because of the Electrification of the vehicles.
