Job Description:

- Consultant will be checking and modifying design and existing 3d models of a current machine

- The machine line is an automated hanger door, simple system. Motors gears and chains, flexible panels that roll up, customer has the patent on this particular hangar door

- customer mass produces this machine systems and supplies it to customers in multiple industries anything from a football fields equipment garage to a military hangar

- this role will be auditing and checking the design of a custom or standard machine

- will be adding part numbers to all of the parts, currently none are numbered

- Consultnat will not have to spec out motors or structural, that data already exists and is accurate

- model analysis to check for fit

- Current work instructions for assemblies and sub assemblies are controlled chaos, consultant will organizing these into a logical assembly/ sub assembly process flow

- put together assembly instructions, collaborating with the shop employees to understand the assembly process

- Consultant will be using solidworks for 3d modeling but not from concept to completion. if they find an error, they would make a mark up and update the models

- starting with the most accurate design so they can use this as a reference to update other designs

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE:

- 3+ years of solidworks or inventor (solidworks preferred, internships and co ops DO count)

- Mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or mechanical drafting experience

- able to work on-site Monday - Friday

- able to travel to local customers as needed

- Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of motors and machinery

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- bachelors degree or associates degree in a related field to mechanical engineering
