We are seeking a full-time Environmental Technician for our office in Oklahoma City. This role involves collaborating with scientists and engineers on projects related to municipal solid waste landfills, groundwater well monitoring, industrial site inspections, and chemical/petroleum spill responses.
Responsibilities
- Conduct groundwater monitoring and landfill gas monitoring.
- Participate in landfill liner, cap, and/or gas system construction quality assurance (CQA).
- Perform vapor monitoring and prepare field notes.
- Assist with emergency spill response and site inspections.
Essential Skills
- Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction-related field preferred.
- 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required.
- Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
- Technical, mechanical, and computer skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of soil sampling, environmental remediation, and environmental fieldwork.
- Willingness to assist with emergency spill response during regular, evening, and weekend hours.
- Ability to travel overnight for work outside of Oklahoma City, with extended out-of-town fieldwork as needed.
Work Environment
This position requires work both in the office and out in the field as needed. Travel will be required depending on project locations.
