Job Description:

The Program Manager for Distribution practice is responsible for qualifying the right customer and right opportunities for the Distribution practice within Utilities Vertical and developing solutions for delivery of center-based/onsite managed projects. They are responsible for meeting the strategic objectives including growth, customer satisfaction, and program KPIs for center-based projects within Utilities vertical. The Program Manager develops the right solution to meet customer needs by leveraging the capabilities of center based technical teams and collaborating with Practice Managers and Business Development Managers in the Utilities vertical. This role provides direction to program/project teams and ensures that all projects meet their cost, quality and timing requirements. This role is central to maintaining and growing relationships with key customer stakeholders and for providing overall governance for center-based/onsite project-based engagements. Success in this role requires proven technical expertise combined with a consulting mindset and business acumen to deliver technical and business solutions that enhance financial performance, improve productivity, and lower overall cost of execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Business Development and Delivery Operations to develop center-based/onsite managed solutions for customers within the Utilities vertical while adhering to the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) as defined within Actalent’s Service Management Framework (SMF)
  • Identify and Direct/Collaborate with project teams executing center-based/onsite managed projects within the Utilities vertical with overall responsibility for technical solution, cost, quality and customer satisfaction; Acts as the voice of the customer into the Utilities delivery organization
  • Ensure compliance to the BAP and Business Execution Process (BEP) within Actalent’s SMF for all center-based/onsite managed projects
  • Monitor and manage project budgets; plan resources required to meet project requirements 
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations at all levels of the client’s organization
  • Work with customer’s technical stakeholders to facilitate workflow development, project scope development and risk assessment, issues resolution and work forecasting and planning 
  • Provide direction and innovation in service and/or process improvement, cost reduction and recommendations for business process optimization 
  • Collect and communicate any customer initiatives and business drivers 
  • Ensure compliance with customer’s training and policy requirements
  • Drives additional business opportunities and pursuit of future business through quality results 
  • Other duties as assigned by management


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil or Mechanical Engineering; PE is highly recommended. advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven technical capabilities in developing solutions to engineering and business problems, defining project life cycles, managing deliverables/customer expectations and compliance to quality processes
  • Experienced in customizing offerings to create customer value and to lower engagement costs - technical solution management and strategic solution outsourcing 
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience managing engineering teams and with a minimum of 3 years in a customer facing role
  • Ability to navigate through a Utilities organization and create/nurture client relationships
  • Proven written, oral and presentation skills and the ability to conduct meetings with high-level decision makers
  • Ability to effectively communicate and partner across cross-functional teams and roles in virtual environment
  • Ability to travel when needed, up to 50 %
