OBGYN MA's

SHIFTS: M-F 730am-530pm (8hr shift)

***May have to work some Saturday's

Description:

Under the direction of a clinician, performs various patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the needs of patients in an OB/GYN clinic practice. Prepares equipment and assists clinicians during patient examinations and treatment.

Job Duties:

• Rooms 20-24 patients a day on average

• Will likely support multiple providers - will not be a 1:1 ratio

• Obtains patients’ history and takes vital signs: temperature, pulse, blood pressure and weight/height

• Updates and maintains clinicians’ daily office schedule

• Answers and responds to patients phone calls

• Schedules laboratory tests, x-rays, special tests and procedures as instructed by the clinician

• Correctly label all specimens and may perform blood draws

• Enters patient’s medical history into EMR (Epic)

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Medical Assistant Certification from Nationally accredited program (AAMA, NCCT, RMA, AMT, etc.) OR ability to obtain certification within first year of hire

• Will also accept an LPN cert in lieu of a MA cert

• CPR certified (or ability to be certified within first 90 days of hire)

• Experience with EMRs - Epic experience is preferred

We are open to NEW GRADS with externship-only experience IF they have their NATIONAL CERT (NCCT, AAMA, etc) -OR- can obtain their national certification within the first YEAR of employment
