Job Description
The Senior Payroll Specialist coordinates and oversees end-to-end, high-volume payroll processing for multi-company, multi-state operations. This role leads on- and off-cycle payroll activities, reviews and approves complex pay transactions, and serves as a key partner to internal teams and external vendors. The Senior Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll, tax, and benefit reporting while driving process improvements and maintaining strong compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Work Environment
This role is based in an office workspace with a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote each week. The Senior Payroll Specialist works with modern payroll and HR technologies, including ADP Workforce Now (or similar ADP platforms), Microsoft Excel, and other HRIS and workforce management systems. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, especially around payroll cycles and reporting periods, and requires a professional presence and attire appropriate for an office setting. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders is frequent, and work involves detailed analysis, reconciliation, and documentation within a structured, process-oriented setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
