We are seeking skilled Diesel Mechanics to join a dynamic team in revamping and fully staffing a Trucking Diesel Shop for a reputable company. This role involves working primarily on Ford, Mack, and International Trucks, with a focus on ensuring adherence to OSHA and Company Safety Policies.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and plan work procedures by reading job orders and observing trucks or equipment in operation.
- Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
- Replace gas or diesel engines.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, making necessary adjustments.
- Lubricate and service vehicles, and fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to schematic drawings.
- Conduct collision repair, sand, prep, and paint vehicles.
- Complete all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensure state inspection requirements are met.
- Perform electrical diagnosing and overhaul gas or diesel engines.
- Conduct diagnostics using computers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5-10 years in the Diesel Field with the ability to work alone or with a helper.
- Experience in electrical diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines.
- Preventive maintenance and welding skills.
- Experience with Mack, Ford, and International trucks.
- Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Mathematical skills including computing rate, ratio, and percent.
- Basic computer skills and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.
- Ability to meet physical requirements relevant to the job.
- Preferred State Inspection license.
- Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries is a plus.
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a shop environment consisting of two buildings. Conditions may be hot, cold, or dirty, and there is currently only one employee with oversight from Regional Managers. The position requires independence and self-motivation, with shifts available from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and a second shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Employees must provide their own tools, and the dress code is likely aligned with safety requirements. Pay is based on experience.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
