Job Title: Part-Time Phlebotomist
Job Description
The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, train others, and make workflow recommendations. This position requires expertise in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7am-11am.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate as needed.
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles, and fully understand physicians' orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accurate labeling.
- Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport, storing them at required temperatures to maintain specimen integrity.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in phlebotomy and blood drawing techniques.
- Phlebotomy certification as required by the state.
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting performing venipunctures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience.
Work Environment
This position requires work in a laboratory or hospital setting, where you will use various phlebotomy equipment and technologies. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
