Job Title: RF Test Technician
Job Description
As an RF Test Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting products down to the component level using advanced equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and functionality of products by determining and developing test specifications, methods, and procedures from a variety of blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
- Determine and develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
- Test and troubleshoot assemblies down to the component level.
- Analyze defective prototypes from the engineering team.
- Complete rework on engineering designs and systems as a result of testing.
Essential Skills
- Experience and understanding of RF technology.
- Experience troubleshooting down to the component level.
- Proficiency in using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience (2-3 years) using digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, base band signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, RF power meters, RF signal generators, and bit error rate testers.
- Ability to read test procedures, schematics, assembly drawings, interface control drawings, and other product-related documentation.
- Ability to solder under a microscope with components down to 0402 size.
- Microwave RF power amplifier tuning experience is preferred.
- IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- High School or equivalent education required, with Technical/Trade School preferred.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in Newtown, PA, within an engineering lab equipped with electro-static flooring and pressure testing equipment to simulate space conditions. Lab attire is required, and the work schedule is a single shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. The focus is on flight test instrumentation work, dealing with recorders designed to work with acquisition products and various sensors. The work environment supports commercial aircraft manufacturing and military data recording applications.
