Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

This role is responsible for providing engineering production support for the transition of new designs to production and resolving issues encountered during the build process for production designs. The position involves generating new designs and solutions to meet technical, cost, and schedule constraints, designing efficient interface components for integration of new products, and investigating root-cause analysis of design issues arising during production. Additionally, the role involves developing associated change documentation to resolve design issues.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new designs and solutions to meet technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Design efficient interface components for integration of new products.
  • Investigate root-cause analysis of design issues during production and develop change documentation to resolve these issues.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and other specialty engineers to resolve multidisciplinary issues.
  • Prepare presentations and variance documentation in response to production non-compliance issues to support vehicle sales.
  • Perform trade studies or tolerance stack analyses during investigation support.
  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
  • Create and edit CAD models in PTC Creo and ensure systems are designed for producibility.
  • Design and analyze welded and bolted joints.
  • Use finite element analysis tools and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Diagnose testing issues with components, document test issues, and maintain an organized data log.
  • Work with suppliers to facilitate cost and quality improvements.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field such as Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2 to 6 years of engineering work experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems, preferably PTC Pro-E, CREO, or SolidWorks.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and integrating technology into combat vehicles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo Parametric and other related tools.
Work Environment

The role requires daily periods of on-floor support, which includes walking between various locations throughout the day and climbing in/on vehicles to assess issues. A collaborative environment working closely with engineers across multiple disciplines. The position involves using advanced design technologies and tools such as PTC Creo and finite element analysis tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
