This position reports directly to the branch Service Manager. The Crane Technician, at job site, will follow direction given by the Foreman leading the job. This is a service tech position. Will go to the office and then go from there. You will be paid for travel from the office to the work site and back.


• Ability to work well with others and work as a member of the team

• Inspect, repair, and service overhead cranes in a timely and cost effective manner

• Assist in crane modernization, upgrade, rebuild, etc., projects in the field

• Ensure that all company owned tools are properly signed out, cared for and returned to branch office with in a timely manner


• Inspect, repair and service of overhead cranes to maximize customer satisfaction and company profitability

• Assist in mechanical, electrical, welding, on site fabrication and assembly as well as any other specific task as directed by Foreman

• Perform all work to meet company safety and quality standards

• Troubleshoot customer crane problems and develop and implement solutions

• Encourage extras and additional sales from existing customers

• Fill out and ensure all paperwork is properly recorded

• Maintain good customer relations

• Control cost through efficient use of supplies and proper use of tools

• Develop an ongoing knowledge of crane equipment and technology

• Perform specific tasks as directed by management

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


• Ability to troubleshoot 480vac 3 phase motor control systems is a plus

• Must also have a valid drivers’ license

• A proven commitment to safety

• Comfortable working at heights.

• Willing to work out of town and off shift as required in some cases

460 Meter controls

Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues

Work within a team and have the ability to individually troubleshoot as well

Strong attention to detail

Print reading or electrical drawings

Crane experience - HUGE Plus

OSHA 10 or 30 - HUGE Plus
