The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and Extranets across the organization. In addition, the Network Engineer will lead the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, security devices, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve complex network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

This person will be responsible for all of the network from architecture to troubleshooting. They are implementing Cisco VOIP where they are placing 13,000 phones throughout their network. Cisco is coming in to analyze the environment on Monday and this project will kick off shortly. This network engineer will be heavily involved in the project.

- Plans or supports large-scale network engineering projects through operations, performance, testing, manufacturing, cost and schedule, training and support, system disposal and/or vendor comparison and cost studies.

- Implements and configures networking products, LAN design, implementation, diagnostics, performance, and management

- Ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of current networks.

- Applies communication, analytic and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve issues.

- Provides customer with technical design support to network acquisition specification, design, proof-of-concept prototyping, development and evaluation of management information and decision support systems.

- Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned

- Provides technical direction for large-scale network engineering projects, including operations, performance, testing, manufacturing, cost and schedule, training and support, and/or system disposal.

- Perform problem isolation and resolution of network problems through troubleshooting and devising effective solutions.

- Install patches and maintain accurate records of program corrections and patch levels. Perform Network Management functions such as, network monitoring, network performance measurement and reporting.
