We are looking to hire a Fiber Optic Specialty Engineer to provide direct support to NSWC Dahlgren. This is a remote position, but candidate must be able to attend meetings at NSWC Dahlgren VA occasionally (at contract expense).

Primary Responsibilities
  • writing, revising and critiquing Fiber Optic SPECS, evaluating, testing and approving new types of fiber optic equipment.
  • provide feedback/comments/recommendations on technical document reviews; trip reports; monthly performance reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline, or Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of Fiber Optic Experience directly related to Naval architecture and engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen with and Active Secret Clearance
  • East Coast location preferred, availability to access a nearby NAVY or Marine Corps installation to access an NMCI Account
  • Technical expertise and demonstrated project leadership in the following:
    • fiber optic cable plant design
    • installation, and standards
    • survivability and risk analysis
    • development of system operation and maintenance requirements
    • expert knowledge of the Navy maintenance community and the systems and processes employed.
    • Demonstrated management, engineering, and communication skills to balance all efforts and provide high quality products on time and within budget are critical.
    • A proven ability to accomplish such duties in a highly dynamic Navy environment.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
