Job Description:

  • Remote role
  • ~ $16/hour
  • Contract position 

The ideal candidate:

  • Google IT Support Certificate Graduate
  • Strong customer service skills and/or experience working in a call center environment

A day in the life of the TaxAct Product Specialist – Account support:

  • 80% if the day is password resets
  • How to reset
  • Microsoft authenticate – 2 factor
  • Find username
  • Need to recover my account
  • 10% of the day is navigation of the SOFTWARE product
  • Helping the consumer find menus
  • How to print
  • Browser issues
  • 10% is helping with rejections using Microsoft authentication

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist and follow up on technical help tickets submitted via phone, email, and chat support
  • Troubleshoot recurring technical issues and suggest solutions to address the root of the problems
  • Independently investigate and implement solutions to technical issues
  • Deliver IT support for operating systems, productivity software, and a variety of other applications used internally


  • Customer Service Experience and ability to work in fast paced environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Connectivity Problems experience highly desired
  • Adeptness in Email Correspondence
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Call Center Customer Service
  • General familiarity with Network Troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Basic Troubleshooting
  • Connectivity experience
  • Deep understanding of Internet Browsers
  • Multi-browsers experience preferred
  • Background in user administration and bug fixing in a client server environment
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Background in installing and configuring operating systems, networked and local printers, and business applications
